Roof Rug / 2024
Donghwan Song, Huisu Cho

The Roof Rug series, inspired by the distinctive roofs of traditional Korean architecture, combines refined aesthetics with meticulous craftsmanship.

Drawing from the tile patterns of Korean residential roofs and the retro color schemes prevalent in the architecture of the 1970s and '80s, these rugs are a modern reinterpretation of a classic design language. Each piece is expertly crafted using traditional hand-tufting techniques, evoking the sensation of walking on an actual rooftop while introducing a unique visual element to any space. Available in three color variations—red, green, and black—the Roof Rug series reflects the architectural beauty of mid-20th century Korean homes. The rugs seamlessly blend Eastern and Western design elements, offering a fresh, sophisticated layer to interior environments. This series transforms everyday spaces into refined, artful settings, where tradition meets contemporary design.
