Roof Rug / 2024
Donghwan Song, Huisu Cho

The Roof Rug Series is a sophisticated fusion of aesthetics and craftsmanship, inspired by the typological elements of retro Korean architecture. Drawing from the rhythmic patterns and nostalgic color palettes of Korean residential architecture from the 1970s and 80s, this collection reinterprets a timeless design language for modern interiors. Each rug is expertly crafted using a hand-tufting technique, resulting in a sculptural texture that evokes the sensation of walking on classic roof tiles. The flowing repetition of curved forms mirrors the patterns of roof tiles, creating a structured yet repetitive visual rhythm. Available in three distinct color options—Burgundy, Jade, and Black—the collection brings a bold yet nostalgic atmosphere to any space. Whether serving as a statement piece or seamlessly integrating into a curated interior, the Roof Rug Series transforms classic architectural motifs into a functional and artistic textile experience, bridging the past with contemporary lifestyle.
