Donghwan Song
송동환
Donghwan Song is a Seoul-based industrial designer recognized for his expertise in crafting innovative and user-centric solutions. After earning a bachelor’s degree in Product Design from Hongik University (KR) in 2020, he honed his skills at leading Korean design studios, including BKID, DESIGN METHODS, and FOUNTAIN STUDIO. During this time, Donghwan collaborated with a diverse range of clients—from global corporations like Samsung Electronics to dynamic start-ups—on R&D and mass production projects spanning home appliances, wearable devices, and portable electronics.
In addition to his work in consumer electronics, Donghwan has ventured into furniture design, combining practical and experimental aspects. Through hands-on prototyping with materials such as metal, wood, plastic, and fabric, he developed a comprehensive understanding of CMF (Color, Material, Finish) and structural solutions. His global perspective, shaped by his studies and international experiences—including exhibitions at Milan Design Week and Dutch Design Week—further enriches the design approach.
In 2023, Donghwan completed his Master’s in Product Design at ECAL (CH), earning the graduation award named 'Mention Bien.' He is currently working as an industrial designer at the Samsung Corporate Design Center in Seoul, where he focuses on advanced design projects that enhance user experiences in the future. With his broad perspective and innovative approach developed through his experience across a diverse range of product lines, he aims to create designs that balance convenience, functionality, and aesthetics.
